Davan Caravans & Motorhomes is celebrating its 90th birthday this year. The Weston-super-Mare, Somerset-based dealer is still in the same family – founder Bert Davies set up in business after building a caravan in his own front garden.
The dealer stocks new ‘vans from some of the best motorhome manufacturers, with brands including Knaus, Weinsberg, Roller Team, Pilote, Joa by Pilote, and Auto-Trail. Davan is also a dealer for Ace, which only returned at the February NEC Show this year.
As well as that, Davan Caravans & Motorhomes stocks a range of awning brands, for those who are looking at the motorhome upgrade to achieve some extra space on tour.
It’s the third generation of the Davies family that runs the business today – Glen is managing director, and brothers Mark and Neil are sales director and workshop director respectively. Glen said: “Our distinct difference is our team. Every staff member lives and breathes our family values.”
Among the celebrations planned for this year are 90-day personalised sales events, “spectacular offers” on motorhome sales, a special prize draw and more.
In other industry news, another dealer has announced it is shutting after over half a century of business. Aberdeen-based Dyce Caravans has blamed the decision on a number of factors, with only the 300-unit storage facility to remain in operation.
