For the 2026 season, Malibu has launched a new Fiat-based campervan range, which is designed to be easy to board and feel spacious inside, while also redesigning its A-class models and expanding the number of low-profiles it produces.
The new campervan range, Malibu Relax, draws on elements of last year’s Mercedes-based Genius model, the Genius 641 LE, by having a coupé-style cab that is integrated into the living area to maximise the feeling of space, something which can be an important trait in the best camper vans.
The Truma Combi 4 heater has also been brought forward under the seats in the lounge. This allows for more storage space in the rear, including an extra set of drawers next to one of the wardrobes under the beds which are both over 2m long. Both these areas can be easily accessed by lifting slats, which stay up thanks to prop struts.
A 70-litre fridge is located at the end of the kitchen unit – which has been shortened to create more of a feeling of space – and is two-way opening for easier access. In the washroom, a plastic tambour door serves as both the main washroom door and the shower door, with a small magnetically fastened curtain protecting the basin and mirror.

The Relax is available in three spec levels: Active, covering just the basics; Ambition, with slightly more “handy” equipment; and Exclusive, with a full range of equipment.
Based on a 6.36m-long Ducato, one of the best vans for converting to a camper, and with a width of 2.05m, the Relax comes in with an MTPLM of 3500kg, so anyone can drive it too.
Elsewhere within Malibu’s campervans, all barn doors now come with a 3D fabric lining rather than plastic on the inside to make them feel cosier. And strip lighting has replaced individual LED spots. All Charming models now come with a new Lucca interior style with an authentic wood texture, handleless storage units, plenty of LED ambient lighting. and a microfibre covering on the walls and ceiling.
For the 2026 season, Malibu’s A-class motorhomes can now be built on either a flat Fiat Ducato chassis or a front-wheel drive Mercedes Sprinter with Al-Ko’s special light low frame. In each case, both “Lightweight 3.5t” and “Comfort 4.2t” versions are possible, and both versions come with a double floor.

The A-class exterior has been redesigned to include a decal that stretches back from the radiator grille to the rear side window.
All low-profile models are also available on either chassis and in either weight, except for the T 490 RB-LE. And there are two new layouts: the T 470 RB-LE “K” is 7.25m long and has a full-length wardrobe at the foot of the passenger side single bed, while the 7.35m long T 480 RB-QB “K” has an island bed at the rear.
The interiors of both A-classes and low-profiles are new. The “Pureline” furniture design features clean lines, handle-free concave overhead locker doors and all-round ambient lighting. Standard “Nomos” style features Modern Walnut furniture with matt white overhead locker doors. The optional “Chiaro” style features Walnut furniture with wood-look locker doors and matt grey contrasts.
Only the Edition + A-class and low-profile 490 RB-LE models in “Comfort 4.2” spec retain last season’s “Bellagio” style, with a “Fine Cherry” furniture finish and overhead locker doors in high gloss ivory.
Malibu is not the only manufacturer to be sharing information about its new season releases, with Volkswagen announcing it will be showcasing its latest Grand California at Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf later this month. The ‘van, which is coming on the latest Crafter, will also feature a new look lounge.
