The Camping and Caravanning Club pulls out of the NEC Show

The Camping and Caravanning Club will not be participating in either of the next two caravan shows held at the NEC.

The club, which has had significant presence at all NEC shows for several years now, says it it has decided to “pause” its attendance at both the Motorhome & Caravan Show, due to run at the NEC from 14 to 19 October this year, and the Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show, due to run at the same venue from 17 to 22 February next year.

Both NEC Shows see the leading manufacturers showcasing their latest releases, while visitors also get to browse a wide range of accessories, whether they’re after one of the best motorhome awnings, want some kitchen equipment, or are after tour-enhancing gadgets.

In a statement, the club said, “As we head into our 125th anniversary year, we want to fully focus on building excitement and buzz around this exceptional milestone. It will be a very exciting time for the club, and we want to make it a truly celebratory occasion.”

For the moment, the club could not give any more details of exactly what is planned for the anniversary celebrations.

In the past, the club has had sizable stands at both shows, including mini-theatres where experts could give presentations.

While it’s still a bit too early to say what will be at this year’s show, last October saw big names such as Xplore unveil its CV X5 campervan, while the Mobilvetta Admiral made its debut on the Marquis Leisure stand too.
