No doubt you think Amazon Prime Day is all about bagging great deals on the kind of big electrical or outdoor goods that are really going to take your campervan experience up a notch or too. And you would be right to think that.
But in amidst all this hunting, is there not a smaller item that you might overlook, something that will be just as crucial as those big portable power stations and the best barbecue for a motorhome in making your time on the campsite as pleasant as possible? I think there is.
Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the humble Croc! And, today on Amazon, you can save up to 40% on it, bringing a pair down to only £29.99, plus you can save an extra £5 by activating a tick box on the product’s Amazon page, reducing them even further to a bargain £24.99 on certain sizes and colours. But you’ll have to move fast, as the Prime Day sale ends tonight (11th July).

What, I hear you say, those plastic shoe things that no one in the world of fashion would be seen dead wearing?
Well, I would suggest you stop listening to those fashionistas, and listen to some common sense instead. I have been reviewing motorhome and caravans, and taking motorhomes away on long trips, for over a decade. And I always take a pair of Crocs with me.
Why? Because they are immensely practical. You just slip them on in the morning to go outside, and then when you come back you can just flip them off, so you don’t have to worry about making a mess by dragging dirt in.
You can wear them in all conditions too – and yes, that includes snowy or boggy fields. I have found that the Croc sole is usually thick enough to carry your feet over and above any such unpleasantness.
They are lightweight, and malleable, so they can be stashed almost anywhere when you don’t need them. And because they are made of plastic, they are easy to clean, and dry off in no time. (OK, so plastic may not be the most “green” of materials, but as Crocs are virtually indestructible, it should be a while before you have to worry about how to dispose of them.)
Personally, I have also found Crocs much more comfortable to wear than a certain other type of sandal that recently tried and failed to have itself registered as a work of art. But that is just my opinion.
Whatever you think, with Crocs going as cheaply as they are on Amazon today – including the ones without backstraps, that are even easier to flip off – you could possibly even afford to buy two pairs, including one that might just keep your style-conscious teenage child happy.
