This £1.3m Brabus Big Boy motorhome has just won a prestigious design award

The Brabus Big Boy 1200, a 12m-long mega-motorhome, has picked up the Red Dot: Best of the Best 2025 gong, recognising its vast array of stunning features

It may cost a cool £1.3m, but Brabus’s stunning Big Boy 1200 is a highly luxurious motorhome that offers a lot for your money – now including the prestige of an award-winning design.

The extraordinary Mercedes Actros-based Brabus – which comes in at a whopping 12m in length, weighs 26 tonnes and is the work of Belgian converter STX Motorhomes – recently picked up the Red Dot: Best of the Best 2025 award.

The judges praised its “quality of seduction”, describing the interior design as “impressively (combining) uncompromising high quality with soothing restraint. Lighting, choice of materials and interior design follow a clear concept that combines functionality and aesthetic standards at an exceptionally high level.”

So what does £1.3m buy you in a motorhome? Within the living area of more than 30 square meters – coming in part thanks to the four slide-outs – you’ll find a full-size washroom with underfloor heating, and a kit-packed kitchen containing an induction hob, spacious fridge, a wine cooler and even a dishwasher. The bedroom has a writing desk and air-conditioning, and there’s a combined washer and dryer in the utility area.

That’s not all the tech you’ll find either: gadget lovers will really appreciate the 43-inch smart TV and PlayStation 5, and a soundbar means you’ll get a great TV viewing experience, too. There’s also easy motorhome internet access, thanks to Starlink, as well as a trio of solar panels and an onboard vacuum cleaner.

As you’d expect, everything is finished in the highest quality fabrics for the most luxurious of motorhome tours.

You’ll need to take out a fuel station loyalty card, though, because you’ll be filling up a lot – the Brabus Big Boy 1200 returns just 14mpg.

While the Brabus Big Boy 1200 may not be on display at the forthcoming NEC Show, the October event can still offer a great chance to see luxurious offerings from some of the leading manufacturers, including Carthago and Laika. One name who will not be there this year, however, is the Camping & Caravanning Club, which has decided to pause its attendance for the next two shows.
